EAGLE7: a free browser shooter set in Nigeria

Kidnappers took a bus on the Kaduna road. You are Eagle-7, the newest soldier in Task Force Dawn Shield, and your job is to bring the hostages home.

EAGLE7 is a first-person shooter that plays in your web browser, on a phone or a computer, with nothing to download. It is free. Rule one of the game: no hostage gets hurt. Hit one and the mission fails.

The story missions

The campaign follows one trail, mission by mission. Each mission plays differently.

Depot training

Learn the controls one at a time on the training lane: move, sprint, jump the walls, crawl under the wire, take down a straw man from behind, then shoot on the range with your sergeant watching.

Kaduna Road

A hijacked bus on the highway. Search it for clues, follow the trail through the bush and the tall grass to the kidnappers' camp, and get the hostages out alive, quietly if you can.

Follow the money

A night in the task force's ops room with Agent Eze from Intelligence. Examine the evidence, find the hidden lead, and link the clues on the case board to find out who paid for the kidnapping.

Container yard raid

A night raid on a container yard at the port of Apapa. Fly the drone first and tag the guards, then go over the fence with night vision, free two dock workers and take the ledger before the syndicate's trucks arrive.

Creek pursuit

On a patrol boat's mounted gun through the Delta creeks at dusk. Stop the lead boat's engine, hold off the gunmen on the banks and the bridge, and never hit a fisherman in the stilt village.

Ambush at the LZ

Take the swamp camp, make a choice about the contractor who funded it, then hold a jungle clearing with your wounded sergeant behind the sandbags until the medevac helicopter lifts off.

Live matches

Play online against other people on three maps set at the port of Apapa: The Gate, the container yard and the quay with a ship alongside. Up to eight players a match, with bots filling empty places when you press Play now.

• Last Man Standing: everyone for themselves, last one up wins the round.
• Team deathmatch, Domination and Get The Flags for two squads.
• Supply drops: a crate falls from the sky with a heavy weapon inside. Get there first.
• Private rooms with your own code, to play with friends.

Rank, Armory and challenges

Each mission gives up to three stars, and stars bring rank, from Recruit to Warrant Officer. Rank and stars open weapons, sights, grips, worn kit and grenades in the Armory. Nothing is sold for real money: everything is earned by playing. After a mission you get a report card with your grade and time, which you can share as a challenge for a friend to beat.

How to play

• On a computer: keyboard and mouse. WASD to move, the mouse to aim, click to fire, right click to aim down the sights, E to use, F for a silent takedown. Every key can be changed.
• On a phone: a stick for the left thumb, drag to look, buttons to fire and aim. The buttons can be moved and resized.
• On a TV or laptop with a phone: scan the code on the big screen and the phone becomes your controller.

Yes. The whole game is free, with no ads between missions and nothing sold for money.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Open eagle7.games in a browser. On a phone you can add it to your home screen to play full screen.

Which devices does it run on?

Phones, tablets and computers with a current browser that supports WebGL 2: Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.

Do I need an account?

No, you can play at once. A free account keeps your progress and rank and puts you on the leaderboard.

Who is it for?

Players 18 and over. It is a shooter about a kidnapping, with no blood or gore.

Is it based on real events?

No. The places are real, but the task force, the armed groups, the people and what happens are fiction. EAGLE7 is not affiliated with any government body.
